Believing God

I came from a Breast Specialist today and she is supposed to be the best of the best! And I believe she is. Like the other Breast Specialist I have gone to, however, she is suggesting that I go through surgery. If you don't know my story, read on:

I went for a routine mammography last Nov. 2006 and few weeks later, I was told to return for more tests. After more pinching and bending of my breast, I was told that more pictures needed to be taken. The agony continued after taking more tests to view the calcification they initially found in my right breast.

The result was not so favorable based on that ONE single irregular calcification. I was told to get a Stereotactic Core Biopsy after, which I did. They cut an incision on my right breast, inserted a needle and took the calcifications out. It took 3 hours long. I had to lie flat on a board with my arms straight on my side. Did it hurt? You betcha! You would think that is all to it, but no! The pathology report shows that I have what they call "Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia". Hyperplasia is a fancy word for breast tissue. The word "atypical" is the scary part. It is more like a warning sign that could lead to cancer. So, I decided to see a Breast Specialist and after seeing one, I decided to go for a second opinion.

Here are some of my initial thoughts: these doctors, although are great, are known to cut people because that is what they do. They also make more money doing surgeries. Have they done unnecessary surgeries before? Most likely, yes. Is there a real need to cut me open again? No, I don't think so. The second doctor specifically said to me: "if you don't want to go through the surgery, you don't have to." She doesn't think I have cancer. The issue is whether or not I want to know what that "atypical" is - just to have that peace of mind.

Peace of mind? Oh, my, if only this world knows what peace of mind really is! I am reminded of God's peace that surpasses all understanding. This you get only when you seek God's face. You see, I seek God's face everyday. I seeked Him regarding this and He gave me this overwhelming peace when this subject comes up over and over again. My Father knows more about what is happening in my body than anyone!

God told me to be still and know that He is Lord. Who should I believe? God or mere man?

I believe God is who He says He is.
I believe that God can do what He says He can do.
I believe that I am who God says I am.
I believe that I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.
I believe that God's Word is alive and active living in me.
I BELIEVE IN GOD!
Amen....

As for this "atypical" thing found in my right breast, I believe God will heal it where it is needed and never let it go any further than just that - it is a typical that is common with most women.
